Ukrainian Drones Strike Russian Military Positions in Donbas (Video)

Ukrainian kamikaze drones have struck Russian armoured and logistics vehicles in the village of Terny, Donetsk region, causing significant damage to the enemy’s supply chain. The 63rd Separate Mechanised Brigade confirmed the successful operation, which targeted military transport and essential resources behind Russian lines.

Drone operators identified and hit two Russian MT-LB armoured personnel carriers, vehicles used to transport troops and supplies. Additional strikes destroyed logistics vehicles and motorcycles positioned in the rear. Ukrainian reconnaissance efforts also detected enemy mortar units and electronic warfare systems, which were further targeted.

Targeted Equipment Type Purpose Impact of Destruction
MT-LB Armoured Carriers Troop Transport Moving soldiers and supplies Limits Russian mobility and reinforcements
Logistics Vehicles Supply Transport Fuel, food, medical supplies Weakens frontline operations
Motorcycles Rapid Movement Reconnaissance and transport Reduces enemy speed and adaptability

Destroying logistics transport behind Russian positions could have serious consequences for the invaders, disrupting their ability to move fuel, food, and medical supplies. The brigade noted that continued losses of such vehicles would directly reduce Russian combat effectiveness in the area.

Russian forces still control part of the village of Terny and have been attempting to advance towards Yampolivka, a key settlement leading to the strategic city of Lyman. This city was liberated by Ukrainian forces in October 2022 and remains critical due to its position near key river crossings over the Siversky Donets River.

Location Strategic Importance Current Status
Terny Access to Lyman and supply routes Partially controlled by Russian forces
Yampolivka Key position leading to Lyman Russian advance halted by Ukrainian forces
Lyman Controls access to river crossings Liberated by Ukraine in October 2022

According to Ukrainian military reports, Russian forces suffered heavy losses in Terny throughout 2024.
