Kremlin’s Media Slip Makes Moscow Business District Vulnerable to Attack (Video)

A significant scandal has erupted within Russian state-run media after it was revealed that Moscow’s business district, Moscow-City, became a base for controlling attacks on Ukrainian territory. RIA Novosti, a Russian news agency, inadvertently exposed the location of drone operators launching strikes from the heart of Russia’s capital. This incident has now raised concerns within the Russian propaganda machine, as even pro-Kremlin Z-channels acknowledge that the skyscrapers of Moscow-City are now legitimate targets for Ukrainian forces.

The controversy began when RIA Novosti released a video about the use of FPV Ovod drones controlled via the Orbita system. The footage showed an operator inside a glass office in Moscow-City, preparing and launching an attack on Chasovoy Yar, a Ukrainian city. According to RIA Novosti, the operator carried out the attack remotely from Moscow City. However, within an hour of the video being published, a storm of criticism followed. Russian Z-channels, including influential Telegram communities, condemned the video for revealing sensitive information. These channels accused the media of irresponsibility, noting that this exposure could now justify a Ukrainian attack on Moscow-City, as it has become a direct military target.

Despite RIA Novosti’s attempt to delete the video and remove references to the Moscow location, the damage was already done. Military bloggers and commentators on pro-Russian Telegram channels began questioning the propaganda and its impact, highlighting that claiming Moscow-City as a base for military operations made it vulnerable to Ukrainian strikes.

The revelation also confirmed that Russian military operations targeting Ukrainian cities are being coordinated from peaceful offices in Moscow’s business centre, which is located approximately 495 km from the conflict zone. This admission has weakened Russia’s claims that such targets are civilian in nature.

Should Ukraine decide to target these sites, it could now be argued that it is a justified military action.
