A Russian war blogger has shared a grim account of the ongoing fighting in eastern Ukraine, describing the hellish conditions experienced by Russian troops on the frontlines. The blogger, known by the name “Don’t Stop War,” has compiled a series of reports based on information from soldiers on the ground, painting a stark picture of the chaotic and brutal reality of warfare.
In his updates, one soldier is quoted as saying, “We’re just going like a herd to the slaughter.” This chilling statement captures the hopelessness felt by many Russian soldiers as they face relentless Ukrainian resistance. The blogger recounted intense combat in the Novo Pavlski area, east of Kotlarfka, where Russian forces met with overwhelming firepower from Ukrainian artillery and drones. The conditions were described as a “meat grinder,” with soldiers struggling to survive in the face of constant bombardment. The blog post includes harrowing details of soldiers’ physical and mental exhaustion, with some reported to have vomited or ceased screaming altogether due to the intensity of the assault.
At the village of Federka, the soldier recalled being forced to take cover after a Ukrainian drone dropped leaflets urging Russian forces to surrender. However, the soldier’s response was defiant, burning the leaflets, and expressing a sense of powerlessness: “I don’t want to die, but I just don’t have the strength to live like a rat in a hole.” The situation remained dire as Russian troops advanced towards the village of Comar, described as the next target, with soldiers battling not just the enemy but also the psychological toll of constant fear and uncertainty.
The blogger also revealed the brutal conditions around the Torski region, where Russian forces face deathly silence, and the fear of imminent attack is ever-present. In another area, the soldiers are subjected to constant bombardment, with drones, artillery, and other weapons creating a “salty hell.” Despite these conditions, the troops are pressing on, partly out of a lack of alternatives, rather than any sense of heroism.
The Ukrainian Southern Defence Forces recently destroyed two stations of Russia’s Borisogleb 2 electronic warfare system. The Borisogleb 2 is a critical system used by Russia to disrupt enemy communications and radar systems. The destruction of these systems marks a significant blow to Russian capabilities in the region.
Meanwhile, in the village of Pishcheny, south of Pokrovsk, Ukrainian forces from the 425th Assault Regiment continued their efforts to hold off Russian advances. The situation in Pishcheny has been particularly fierce, with Russian forces attempting to storm Ukrainian positions, only to be repelled by the resolute defenders. Ukrainian troops, employing tactics such as FPV drone strikes, have successfully thwarted several assaults, eliminating numerous Russian soldiers in the process.
