Ukrainian Sappers Neutralise Deadly Russian Cluster Munition in Kyiv

Municipal workers in Kyiv region recently discovered a highly dangerous explosive device hidden in a forest belt. Recognising the potential threat, they immediately alerted emergency services, prompting a swift response from the Mobile Rescue Center for Rapid Response of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

Upon arrival, pyrotechnic experts identified the object as a self targeting submunition from an RBK 500 cluster bomb, a weapon frequently used by Russian forces. Given the high risk posed by such unexploded ordnance, specialists followed strict safety protocols to neutralise the threat on site, ensuring the safety of local residents.

Thanks to the rapid intervention of the emergency team, no injuries were reported. This incident highlights the ongoing danger of unexploded Russian munitions and the critical role played by Ukrainian demining specialists in securing civilian areas.
