Watch: Hidden Russian Strela-10 Air Defense System Blown Apart in Forested Ambush

The Requiem Group, a specialised unit within the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces, has carried out another highly successful attack against Russian military equipment. Footage recently released by the unit’s press service captures the precise moment an enemy Strela 10 air defense system was completely destroyed in a meticulously planned drone ambush.

The attack unfolded deep within a forested area where Russian forces had attempted to conceal the air defense system. However, they inadvertently exposed its location when individuals stood near the hidden vehicle, allowing Ukrainian forces to identify the target. Utilising a reconnaissance drone, the Requiem Group carefully adjusted their attack in real time, ensuring maximum accuracy.

The first FPV drone strike disabled the engine of the Strela 10, immobilising it. Moments later, a second drone was launched, delivering a final devastating strike that obliterated the system. The operation demonstrated the effectiveness of Ukrainian drone warfare and the precise execution of special forces missions.

According to data compiled by the independent intelligence platform Oryx, Russia has now lost a total of 51 Strela 10 air defense systems since the start of its full scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. The breakdown of these losses is as follows:

Status of Russian Strela 10 Systems Number
Destroyed 42
Captured by Ukraine 4
Damaged 3
Abandoned 2
