Washington Seeks European Input on Ukraine War Talks

Donald Trump’s special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, has temporarily halted work on a proposed peace plan to consult with NATO allies. Instead of rushing into an agreement, Washington claims it wants to ensure European leaders have a say in shaping any future deal. Kellogg will meet with NATO leaders to discuss military support for Ukraine in exchange for access to valuable Ukrainian resources, a move that has raised eyebrows among European diplomats.

Reports indicate that Kellogg’s proposal will be partially unveiled at the Munich Security Conference, where he is expected to present a framework that continues military aid to Ukraine while leveraging Kyiv’s rare earth resources as a bargaining chip. European diplomats have been assured that the US is committed to strengthening Ukraine’s negotiating position rather than pressuring Kyiv into premature concessions.
